Oasis Hong Kong Airlines - We Have Take-Off!
Oasis Hong Kong, the first real long-haul budget airline completed its inaugural round trip: Hong Kong - London Gatwick - Hong Kong. Flight O8 707 arrived at Hong Kong airport at 18:49 local time today with a delay of 4 hours.
The outward leg to London was delayed by 24 hours after Russia refused permission for Oasis to fly through its airspace. However this problem seems to have been rectified.
Oasis has created a buzz in the commercial aviation industry by offering to sell flights from London to Hong Kong from as little as £261 return all in. This is sure to have an effect on the major carriers on that route (British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic) and we could see some good discounts hit the market.
